Inclusion through sport: Our support for Special Olympics 2025

Special Olympic Switzerland2

Special Olympics is the world's largest sports movement for people with intellectual disabilities and is active in 193 countries. Over 6.3 million athletes, 500,000 coaches and more than 1.1 million volunteers are part of this unique community.

The foundation is committed to giving people with disabilities access to sport - through a wide range of training, competitions and further education programmes. The focus is not on performance, but on participation, community and personal development.

With its commitment, Special Olympics not only creates sporting experiences, but also makes an important contribution to greater inclusion in our society.

What moves Special Olympics Switzerland:

  • Building inclusive structures: Sports organisations are supported in developing suitable exercise and training opportunities for people with disabilities - with the aim of enabling social participation in existing clubs.

  • Access to sporting events: Organisers of popular sports events are empowered to make their offerings accessible to people with disabilities.

  • Competitions for all: Special Olympics organises its own competitions in 20 different sports, where the focus is on access, enjoyment and personal success.

  • International experiences: Athletes are given the opportunity to take part in international games - often associated with unique moments of success and lasting impressions.

We are proud to be able to support this movement once again.
